Talalla is a quiet fishing village on the south cost of Sri Lanka. The Bay of Talalla has a quite and unspoilt beach, a refreshing contrast to the more developed resorts on the west coast.
It is just a few kilometres west of Matara and is easily accessible despite its apparent quiet and isolation.
You will often see small colourful wooden fishing boats lined up along part of the beach. At other times you can see fishermen setting out to sea or returning with their catch.
When you look out over the sea from Talalla Bay, you are looking at a great expanse of ocean. There is nothing more than a few small isolated islands between Sri Lanka and Antarctica.
